WSOP Bracelet Going Going Gone On Ebay

The Ebay opening bid for the bracelet was $16,000, and with 116 players throwing their bids on the table, the best hand and final win went at $147, 500 on November 25th. Peter couldn’t be happier with the result. The trophies of the highest form of poker tournaments can still be sacred, it’s all relative. Perhaps poker and philanthropy have more in common than previously thought.
Wondering what the winner is doing with the bracelet today? If it were up to poker star Tony G., the WOSOP gold may be proudly worn as a collar by his protector, a German Shepherd named Zasko. “People will accuse me of trying to make a mockery of Peter’s WSOP Main Event win, but that is not the intention.” Tony G. wrote on his blog, “I really want to do this. I respect Peter’s decision to turn around and say that’s it– each to their own, and hope that the money I give him for the bracelet goes to a good cause.”
The winner of the auction ended up being anonymous. Perhaps it was purchased by PokerStars or Harrahs, and will make an appearance as a museum piece or promotional draw at future WSOP events. One thing is for sure, UNICEF is the big winner here.
