Phil Hellmuth is a master at marketing himself, and his latest foray into reality TV may get him the most mainstream recognition yet.
Phil recently let the news out with his tweet last week, “OMG! Phil Hellmuth (Me!) on “Dancing with the Stars!” Outrageous! Might make a fool out of myself on Worldwide Television one more time…”
Although it is uncertain which other time he is referring to in his long history of antics and outbursts on national TV coverage, he did try to hit the infamous dance floor once before in 2009. He entered the casting for the show, but he wasn’t selected that season to participate.
He isn’t the only poker star to seek out “Dancing” fame. In 2008 Shannon Elizabeth was a contestant in season six. She swung around the floor quite well, and may be trying again for the win in 2011.
The network has not announced if Phil will be participating in the show, but he probably has his tuxedo ready to go. He would definitely add his own colorful comments in front of judges table.
