Hands down, Chris Moneymaker is one of the biggest names in the poker world. His win in the 2003 WSOP Main Event single-handedly revolutionized the poker world by popularizing it. Many people have gone into the fine game of poker due to the exploits of Christ Moneymaker, and everybody knows that the world of poker is a better place since he hit the scene like a chip-fueled missile.
The biggest noise around the man who made poker popular is his exploits at PCA 2011. Now, no doubt the man gets plenty of attention wherever he goes: if the name Moneymaker appears on the marquee, it gets the attention of poker enthusiasts worldwide. If Moneymaker shows up to play, the world turns to watch. This has proved truer than ever at PCA this year, as spectators everywhere watch with baited breath as Moneymaker keeps edging up and up in the chip counts.
The PCA title is one of the major titles that has eluded Moneymaker throughout his illustrious career, despite the high levels of success he has enjoyed. The last time he got close to the title was in 2003, which ended on a dud note. However, Moneymaker says that his relationship with poker is constantly evolving, and he’s always looking for ways to better his game and make himself worth the hype that surrounds him.
To this end, Moneymaker claims that hes a much better poker player as compared to 2003, and he’s come to the table ready to take some names. The question, is, of course, can he pull it off?
The only real answer is that time will tell, but there’s no doubt that the world is watching.
