Although visitors may not be playing yet for money, chances are they may be soon. The surge of visitors has exploded for the second month, making online gambling websites rank high. comScore Media Matrix, a front runner in forecasting and measuring online traffic, released its recent analysis for October online activity on the U.S. Alongside political news and entertainment sites, online gambling sites grabbed millions of visitors from the web.
They chalked up the surge of visitors to a televised World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, sports betting and recent media coverage of online gambling legislation.
Online gambling sites drew 32 million visitors during the month, increasing as the World Series of Poker final table played towards poker domination. Number of visitors were up 114% since the previous month, making online gambling the highest growing category on the internet for the second month in a row.
FullTiltPoker.com grabbed the most visitors with 4.7 million visits, an increase of 12 percent. PokerStars.com had 2.5 million visits. UB.com took bronze with 1.8 million vistits. Kingolotto had a respectable 1.7 million visitors, with Absolute Poker a 1.6 million visit stat, up 19 percent. Last, Sportingbet PLC had 1.4 million visitors with the highest growth recorded, a whopping 39%.
