Is Facebook Really Going to Have Real Money Poker Online?
The possibility of social networking being a part of the poker phenomenon online may become a reality. Facebook is thinking of entering the online poker scene, but of course, this may just be rumors. We will have to wait and find out.
Facebook has been in top level discussions with many different organizations about whether they will start offering real money online poker to their members. They currently have a poker game integrated into the site, but it is for credits, and not for actual cash. This is a new realm that Facebook is looking to enter. Twenty one online gaming experts and Facebook have been talking about the possible addition, but nothing has been heard officially from Facebook which is the main problem. If it is actually going to actually happen, it would likely take place within the the first quarter of 2012, which would give them the time needed to get any applicable licenses. They already have two prospects for licensing their poker run.
Adding poker to their network has the potential to juice their revenue over 80 percent if not more. Aside from the direct monetary advantage, the are hoping for increased traffic to the site’s non poker related areas from people unfamiliar with their platform. Any official announcements about this will be made directly on Facebook.
