The 2010 World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event in Biloxi, Mississippi finished up with Travis Lutes taking the lead. The event started with 270 players all looking to take the crown. It was a large mix of professionals and circuit regulars. They all were willing to put out the cash to guarantee their seat.
When day three came about, there were only nine left to battle it out. The top prize awaited only one of them, hovering at over $95,000. The final table was led by Travis Lutes and it ended up giving him the advantage all the way to the end.
The excitement was present during every move. Action started quickly on the first hand when John Holley put down his all-in bet, which led to his elimination. Farid Nasserazad flopped trip eights to end Holley’s run to the championship. At this point, Nasserazad took the chip lead but stayed quiet for much of the night until the final hours of play.
Within 90 minutes, the nine were down to only two where heads up began between Lutes and Nasserazad. At this point Nasserazad had a 2 to 1 chip lead, causing the action to go on for another five hours before it closed with Travis taking the championship. There was even a point where Lutes was down 6 to 1, but he didn’t give up. The final hand ended with Nasserazad chasing his ideal hand, but only running fours landed which gave Lutes the final victory.
Lutes took this WSOP Biloxi Circuit Event and the $95k prize money.
