Eyewitness accounts of the cash games in Macau and reports from PokerStars Matt Savage tell a tale of ridiculous pots and marathon sessions. The games have been part of the opening of the Playboy Lounge at The Sands in Macau. The games have seen poker giants like Phil Ivey and Tom “Durrr” Dwan tangle it up with wealthy Chinese businessmen.
The game has switched back and forth from 5-6 handed to some epic heads up matches including Durrr. The one session was reported to last some 48 hours, and Durrr having massive swings. Durrr lost $20million HK dollars in the first HU session , but ended up winning $68million HK in the 2nd. That’s about $2.7million US, and $8.7Million US, respectively for those counting at home.
Many of the principals involved in the games were leaving to head back to the US for the Thanksgiving holiday and for other business, but it will be interesting to see if and when this massive high stakes action returns to Macau.
