The Federated Sports and Gaming organization announced an exciting partnership with the Palms Casino Resort to introduce a new poker league. The professional poker players invited to the league will be the best of the best from the top 200 players worldwide.
The Palms partnered with former World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack as chairman and Annie Duke as commissioner of the league.
Annie Duke is excited about the league, and said, “A unified league is something we have been talking about in the industry for years and I’m really looking forward to bringing this vision to life.” Recently Annie left UB Poker as a long-time spokesperson to pursue other action. She found a role that will springboard her from player to producer.
The requirements for entry into the league are based on a ranking system created by Duke and the organizers. They will use analytics of previous tournament play as well as guidelines of statistics similar to those used in ranking golf professionals.
The memberships begin a 2-year terms going all the way up to lifetime memberships. The league doesn’t have an official name yet, but advisors include Michael Brodsky, David Goldberg and Jeffery Grossman of Youbet.com.
Along with Pollack this panel of expert organizers will work to grow the most sought-after poker affiliation yet. Pollack said, “Our new league will celebrate poker professionals like never before and provide a tournament experience at the Palms that is first-class at every turn.”
