Saturday at 9 am Pacific Time, the spectator line will be opening at the Rio in Las Vegas. The November Nine will be starting play at noon to finish the World Series of Poker Main Event. They will be fighting for the total of $8.9 million top cash prize.
Once noon hits, it’s game on! It will prove to be exciting to watch the remaining players battle it out for the top prize. Each player has preselected introduction music to walk out to. It’s expected that reigning champion and PokerStars pro Joe Cada will give the “shuffle up and deal” command.
For the first hour and fifteen minutes, blinds will remain at 250,000/500,000 each requiring an ante of 50,000. The play style will more than likely prove to be fast and aggressive. Even with this style, analysts don’t believe that any of the November Nine will be leaving the final table within the first hour of play.
Game play will continue all Saturday until only two competitors remain. Last year this took viewers and participants hours into the night to accomplish. This year it’s expected to wrap up considerably faster. At 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the blinds will be raised to 1,000,000/2,000,000 with an ante of 300,000. This much at stake should prove to help move the action along.
The final heads up challenge begins Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Rio’s Masquerade Stage. The final battle should prove to be extremely exciting with action all around. On Monday after the tournament, the two new inductees of the Poker Hall of Fame, Dan Harrington and Erik Seidel, will be introduced as well.
