Players are confirmed for the 2012 World Series of Poker

The $1 million buy in tournament for the next year already filled their spots with those trying to take a chance to win. 22 players have already put in to get the most out of their playing experience in the big one for one drop coming up in 2012. The event is expected to run from July 1 to July 3 in 2012. The players are going to play in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino located in Las Vegas. The winner gets the first ever platinum WSOP bracelet. This is something big that is going to change the number of people that buy in.

This is expected to be the biggest and best buy in poker game that the World Series of Poker has ever seen. This tournament was introduced in June by the founder of Cirque du Soleil and ONE DROP. The focus of this even kind hearted. It is to support the access that other countries have to clean water. $111,111 of the $1 million is going to be donated to help with this cause. A needy country will be able to receive clean, fresh water with this money.

Each and every entrant is important, and the poker community should be very generous when it comes to this important cause. They do not have to buy in to this tournament to make a difference. You can also donate for this charity as well.

Some players that took the spots at the table already:

Andy Beal

Gus Hansen

Guy Laliberte

Phil Ruffin

Bobby Baldwin

Dan Shak

Patrik Antonius

Johnny Chan

Sean O’Donnell

Tom Dwan

Daniel Negreanu

Tony Guoga

Johnathan Duhamel

Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier

There are others that have entered into the event but wish to stay anonymous. As the months continue, additional names are expected to be added to the list. Johnathan Duhamel is pleased to be a part of such a great cause and wonderful event. He states that the buy in is a lot of money, but his participation comes on a natural level since he is the spokesperson for ONE DROP. On top of the already collected money from the buy in, he also wants to add 5 percent of his winnings from the tournament to the collection pile.

The tournament will start with each player having 3 million in chips, and start at 60 minute timed levels. There are only 48 spots for the entire tournament. If the event reaches to that many players, the prize pool will be around $40 million, if not more. The tournament then pays out 20 percent, which is more than a typical tournament. A $50,000 deposit is required to hold a spot in the tournament for anyone that is interested, and the rest of the funds are not due until 14 days before the tournament start date on July 1, 2012. Anyone can play as long as they are 21 or older, and has the money to pay for the buy in.
