The Full Tilt Poker Master Series at the Costa Brava’s Grand Casino in Barcelona, Spain was rocked by Leo Margets, one of the best female poker players today.
A focus on women poker players has continued since 2009, when Leo, sponsored by 888Poker, was the last woman to survive in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, finishing a respectable 27th.
Since then she has been perfecting her game and recorded winnings of $600,000 in tournament play in 2009. The following year was another successful one for her. She completed a 3rd-place finish at the Aussie Millions Six-Max side event, and last weekend she cleaned up 100,000 pounds in the Full Tilt Poker Masters Series win. Here she competed against 31 of the best players in Spain in this invitation-required event.
The Full Tilt Poker Masters Series showcases over three days many disciplines in poker. Everything from turbo tournaments, deep stacks and shootouts are covered in the event. It’s no fluke that Margets took the tournament, but shows her diversity and understanding of different poker genres.
